The UN Goals for Sustainable Development, or Global Goals, were launched at the beginning of 2016. They have been much publicised recently through Project Everyone, devised by the filmmaker Richard Curtis (founder of Comic Relief).

To find out more about the goals visit: Global Goals.

Each of the 17 goals is supported by a number of targets, 169 altogether. (For example Goal 3 ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’ includes the target (3.4) to …promote mental health and wellbeing.)

It’s up to us all to make it happen: governments, companies, charities, individuals…

WWF have just released a report which outlines the advantages for businesses in setting ambitious SDG strategies, and describes what they may be able to help achieve.

And perhaps poetry has a role here in promoting good mental health and wellbeing!
